Today, we are going to learn about our five senses – sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. I will be your teacher and I will explain a worksheet to you that will help you learn about your senses.

The worksheet you have is about matching each picture to the sense it represents. On the right side of the worksheet, you will see five boxes, each labeled with one of the senses. You will also see pictures of things in the left column. Your job is to look at each picture and decide which sense it represents, then write or draw the picture in the box labeled with that sense.

Let’s start with the first sense – sight. Sight is what we use to see things around us. We use our eyes to see things like colors, shapes, and movement. Look at the first picture on the worksheet. It is a picture of a rainbow. What sense do you think this picture represents? That’s right, it represents sight. So, you should draw or write the picture of the rainbow in the box labeled with the word “sight”.

Now, let’s move on to the second sense – hearing. Hearing is what we use to listen to sounds around us. We use our ears to hear things like music, people talking, and animals making noise. Look at the second picture on the worksheet. It is a picture of a person listening to music with headphones on. What sense do you think this picture represents? Yes, it represents hearing. So, you should draw or write a picture of the person listening to music in the box labeled with the word “hearing”.

Next, we have touched. Touch is what we use to feel things around us. We use our skin to feel things like textures, temperatures, and pressure. Look at the third picture on the worksheet. It is a picture of a person touching a furry dog. What sense do you think this picture represents? Correct, it represents touch. So, you should draw or write the picture of the person touching the dog in the box labeled with the word “touch”.

Moving on to taste. Taste is what we use to experience the flavors of things we eat or drink. We use our tongues to taste things like sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. Look at the fourth picture on the worksheet. It is a picture of a person eating an ice cream cone. What sense do you think this picture represents? Good job, it represents taste. So, you should draw or write the picture of the person eating ice cream in the box labeled with the word “taste”.

Finally, we have a smell. The smell is what we use to detect scents around us. We use our noses to smell things like flowers, food, and other things that have a scent. Look at the last picture on the worksheet. It is a picture of a person smelling a flower. What sense do you think this picture represents? You got it, it represents smell. So, you should draw or write a picture of the person smelling the flower in the box labeled with the word “smell”.

That’s it! You have now learned about your five senses and how to match pictures to each sense.
